Pre production

Mood board

The first minute of our documentary will consist of many shots of people using technology and there will also be a voice-over saying the different sides of gaming and technology, talking about how it makes it more exciting, but at the same time making the world lazy. there will also be parts to an interview that will be shown fully in the rest of the documentary. This  start of the documentary is known as the exposition. This will be the hook of the documentary and will get the audience interested and want to find out more on the topic of the documentary.

Individual ideas for documentary

In this post I will be discussing the idea that i had put forward in the group.

For our documentary production we all started by thinking of our own, individual, ideas to use as the topic of the documentary.
The idea that I thought of was the influence that games have on the younger generation.

My big questions would be:
·      What are the positives and negatives of video gaming
·      Do the negatives of gaming out weigh the positives of gaming?
·      Are video games de-socializing our younger generations?

The reason that I wanted to choose this as the main topic of the documentary is because it would be easier to find content on the topic itself and it also relates to us, as gaming, in some cases, heavily influences the people of our age group.

The idea of games/movie influence is that we would concentrate on the ways that these things influence people and the way that it could make some people act.

There would also be some parts on how the people themselves think of the game/movies and possibly compare them to the opinions of the adults, which could be parents, schoolteachers or even older friends.

To decide on the topic that we would use for the documentary we showed each other our ideas and then all had a vote on which topic that we want to use.

The pros and cons of the choice that I made is that the information can be found easily because we can ask people that we know if they play games too much and what they think about playing games.

The content would also be easier to make as we could have interviews with anyone as we can ask younger people whether or not they like video games.  Teenagers would also be interviewed as they can relate to the topic as it effects there age group in a large way.
